The Girl's Brigade as we know it today, was formed on 10th June 1965 with the amalgamation of the following organisations:

• The Girls' Brigade was founded in Ireland in 1893
• The Girls' Guildry was founded in Scotland in 1900
• The Girls' Life Brigade was founded in England in 1902

The first company of The Girls' Brigade was formed in 1927 at the Wyalkatchem Methodist Church in Western Australia.  From these humble beginnings, Girls' Brigade spread throughout Australia and began in the ACT in 1954.

Girls' Brigade still operates throughout Australia and the world, providing leadership and self development programs for young women in line with our motto: Seek, Serve and Follow Christ.
